HAZWOPER - 8-hour REFRESHER Training
Do you have employees who may have some responsibility with responding to and carrying out work-activities to address the release or spill of hazardous materials? Does your facility have large quantities of hazardous materials that can potentially lead to a spill-incident, and create a reasonable possibility of employee exposure? OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard (29 CFR 1910.120) requires a minimum of 8-hours of refresher training annually for any employee exposed to hazardous substances and/or health hazards during operations, including:
- On-Site Clean-Up Operations: On-site workers, and supervisors and managers directly responsible for on-site workers
- Treatment, Storage and Disposal (TSD) Facilities: Employees exposed to health hazards or hazardous substances
- Emergency Response Operations: Operations-level first-responders, hazardous materials technicians, hazardous materials specialists, and on-scene incident commanders.
This 8-hour “refresher” course is intended to supplement an employer’s internal HAZWOPER training program, and provide an additional 8-hours of refresher training for workers exposed to the hazards associated with the uncontrolled release and/or spills of hazardous substances.
