Electrical Safety in the Workplace: NFPA 70E

This course will cover NFPA 70E ("qualified person") electrical safety training requirements including the new NFPA 70E 2018 edition regulatory changes. Learn what a "qualified person" is as defined by OSHA; what an arc flash/arc blast is; who must be trained; proper selection and use of PPE; clearance distances; proper lockout/tagout procedures; and how to recognize electrical hazards. Designed for NFPA 70E, qualified and non-qualified workers: Qualified workers are required to attend a mandatory refresher course every three years. This course meets the requirements for both qualified and non-qualified persons. This course is also available for on-site training.

*This course does not meet requirements for Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) Electrical continuing education credits.

Gary has over 25 combined years’ of experience in construction, healthcare, manufacturing management and safety programs. He is a consultant, has a B.S. in electrical engineering. An MBA, OSHA Authorized construction outreach trainer and has also been an adjunct instructor at Century College. Gary brings a broad perspective from his years of experience of safety training to his students and classes.
