Safe Patient Handling in Clinical Settings

By July 1, 2010 every clinical setting that moves patients from point to point as part of the scope of service is required to develop a written safe patient handling plan with the goal of minimizing manual lifting of patients. This includes physician, dental and other outpatient care facilities. Breca Tschida, the Ergonomics Program Coordinator for MNOSHA's Workplace Safety Consultation, will walk you through the process of developing this plan and help you understand what you need to do to be in compliance.
